Lenovo L27-4e: a larger view for your everyday desk
A laptop screen can feel restrictive when it becomes your main display for the entire day. The Lenovo L27-4e provides a 27-inch viewing surface for reading documents, following online lessons, browsing and watching videos, without requiring a complicated docking setup.
Its IPS panel combines Full HD resolution with a 100Hz refresh rate. HDMI and VGA connections make it useful both as an external laptop display and as a replacement monitor for a compatible desktop computer.
This is a straightforward home-and-office monitor for buyers who want a physically larger screen and simple connections rather than specialised gaming features.
Know what 27-inch Full HD means
The Lenovo L27-4e displays 1920 × 1080 pixels across a 27-inch panel. Compared with a smaller Full HD monitor at the same scaling, text and interface elements appear physically larger.
The important distinction is that a larger screen does not automatically provide more digital workspace. A 24-inch Full HD monitor has the same pixel count. If you want finer text or more room for detailed applications at 27 inches, compare a higher-resolution monitor before deciding.
For users who prefer larger on-screen elements, sit a little farther from the display or want a bigger picture for entertainment, the L27-4e offers a different balance: viewing size without moving beyond Full HD.
A smoother desktop at 100Hz
The display supports a refresh rate of up to 100Hz. With a compatible connection and the correct computer settings, scrolling, pointer movement and supported animations can look smoother than on a 60Hz screen.
Use HDMI when configuring Full HD at 100Hz; Lenovo specifically documents this mode over HDMI 1.4. Check the selected refresh rate in your computer’s display settings after connecting the monitor.
The L27-4e can also serve for casual gaming, but it should not be confused with a dedicated high-refresh-rate Legion gaming display. Choose it primarily for a larger everyday screen rather than competitive gaming performance.
IPS viewing and colour for mixed use
The IPS panel provides wide viewing angles, useful when showing a document to someone beside you or watching a video from a slightly different seating position.
With 99% sRGB coverage, the monitor can reproduce a broad portion of the colour range commonly used for web content. This makes it a practical option for presentations, photographs and general media viewing. Gamut coverage alone does not establish professional colour accuracy or calibration.
The screen has a listed brightness of 300 nits, a typical contrast ratio of 1500:1 and an anti-glare surface. Position it to minimise direct reflections and adjust brightness to suit your room.
Connect a newer laptop or keep an older desktop useful
The Lenovo L27-4e includes one HDMI 1.4 input and one VGA input. HDMI provides a digital connection for compatible computers, while VGA remains useful for older desktops that lack a modern video output.
If your laptop only has USB-C, check whether that port supports video output before choosing a suitable HDMI adapter. The monitor itself has no USB-C input and cannot charge your laptop.
There is also no USB hub, built-in webcam, microphone or speaker system. Keep using your laptop’s camera and audio, or connect separate accessories to your computer.
For the manufacturer’s connection and display details, see the official Lenovo L27-4e specifications.
Check the fit on your desk
With its supplied stand, the monitor measures approximately 61.2cm wide and 21cm deep. Allow additional space for cables and choose a viewing distance that suits the screen size.
The stand tilts from −5° to +22°. It does not provide height adjustment, swivel or pivot, so check whether the fixed height works with your desk and chair.
A compatible 100 × 100mm VESA arm is an alternative if you need more positioning flexibility. Confirm the arm’s weight capacity and mounting requirements before installation.
The Raven Black finish and narrow top and side bezels give the monitor an unobtrusive appearance alongside a laptop or desktop system.
